Bus sightseeing practice nr 2 in Helsinki

Today we had the second sightseeing practice in bus around Helsinki.

We heard guidance in Finnish, Spanish and English.

Today happened to be also the "penkkariajelut" of those high school students who leave the school now and concentrate studying for the matriculation exams. Luckily we didn't get stuck behind the trucks.

I had my guidance turn quite in the end of the tour from Sibelius monument until Olympic Stadium. It was already half past five and quite dark ... and I don't know the Meilahti neighborhood at all...disaster, I though!

Well, I managed to invent some stories about our PM Sanna Marin while we passed the PM's residence. When we passed the HUS hospital area, I didn't think of telling about the Finnish health care, but this is good to remember for the next time. Then closer to the Olympic Stadium I was wondering how come we have so many football fields there and no skating or ice hockey rings even though it's winter. Well, obviously there is at least Töölön jalkapallostadion, known as Bolt Arena, which is the home stadium for the HJK- football club. Around the Arena there are other fields with a heated surface, like Töölön jalkapallokenttä with heated natural grass.

It was again an interesting tour and I learned a lot!

I suppose it's practice, practice and practice that makes you a good guide!
